Release Highlights
New in version 1.11.9
- Search algorithm and parallelization optimizations
were in focus in this release, enabling you to begin the initial inspections even with a high number of parallel imports. Parallel searching also benefits from these innovations. Furthermore, the search algorithm has been refined in this release, allowing false positives to be sorted out within the search result distribution.
New in version 1.11.4
- Contextual help
significantly facilitate your introduction to using readworks. As soon as you hover your mouse pointer over a button and briefly wait, it will display the function hidden behind it. Additionally, you will receive information about the keyboard shortcuts that allow you to perform the same action without using the mouse, helping you access important information even more quickly. - Automatic updates
ensure that you are always up-to-date without needing to spend time on installation and setup. Whenever a new update is available, it will be downloaded automatically. You will be notified that the updates will be applied automatically once you finish your work and close the program.
New in version 1.11.2
- Search hit distribution
allows you to quickly identify which words were found how often for a search, both at the document and case level. Additionally, you have the option to exclude false positives to refine the search results. Excluded false positives will not be considered in future document imports.
New in version 1.11.0
- Notes
are the major innovation in Version 1.11. Any number of notes can be created on each page with an integrated text editor. Notes can be searched in real-time both on the page and in a notes overview. - The bookmarks and notes overview
provides a comprehensive summary of created bookmarks or notes in the current case. Notes can be searched in real-time and edited again. - CTRL/⌘ + F as a universal keyboard shortcut
allows you to create a new search at any time while working on a case, which is immediately applied to all documents within the case.
New in version 1.10.0
- Project folders
structure research in various areas and facilitate the exchange of results, especially in collaborative environments. For example, this is particularly useful when assistants carry out basic data research, which you can seamlessly build upon. - Import queueing
optimizes the allocation of system resources during data import, preventing potential overloads caused by the simultaneous import of extensive document batches. - Acceleration of deletion processes
New in version 1.9.3
- Dual Screen Mode
Dual Screen Mode, you can now open readworks.app in two windows. This means that you can use two views of the application at the same time. When you make a change or navigate in one window, that change will also be shown in the other window, so both windows always display the same information. This makes it easier for you to compare information or perform different tasks simultaneously. - Adaptive Matching Algorithm:
When importing new documents into a case or file, the search and matching algorithm now takes into account existing filters and exclusion criteria. This reduces the effort required for document review and enhances the relevance of the remaining search results." - Password protected PDFs
If you know the password for a password-protected PDF document, you can now import it. During the import process, readworks.app will prompt you for the corresponding password. - Memory optimized OCR processing
- Import no longer blocks the user interface
New in version 1.9.2
- Wordcontext tools
readworks performs a word similarity detection in its search logic.
As a result, occasionally inappropriate or mismatched words might appear as search results.
To focus on truly relevant results after importing documents, readworks.app provides specialized text tools (see image). With these, you can:
- Hide individual hits
- Conceal all hits in the document with a specific wording
- Remove the search term
